Sharing your Faith is a Matter of Life and Death
Jesus came to earth to teach people about the kingdom of God and if you believe in the teachings of Jesus then you are just like the original twelve disciples. The disciples believed in the message of the Messiah so much that they were compelled to share the Gospel even though it cost most of them their lives. Fortunately, sharing your faith in our part of the world will not cause you to loose your life. However, that does not mean that sharing your faith is still not a matter of life and death.
The Apostle Paul wrote, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord. Sin separates people from God and separation from God can result in eternal death. But Jesus paid for the sins of the world when He died on the cross. Therefore, God has made eternal life available to everyone through Jesus Christ. Eternal life is a free gift from God to those who confess and believe Jesus is Lord. The Apostle Paul wrote, “If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus Christ is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
To be saved means to be delivered from horrors of eternal death. But more importantly, to be saved means to accept the free gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. In one of the most famous passages in the Bible, John taught about this. John wrote, “For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son that those whosoever will believe, shall not perish but have everlasting life. The fact of the matter is that people will die or perish if he or she does not accept the gift of eternal life. The Bible teaches that many of these people will perish because of a lack of knowledge. Sharing your faith helps people to become knowledgeable about what Jesus did and what the requirements are for eternal life.
